FAQs

What should I eat before class?

Our suggestion is that you don’t eat anything too heavy for at least 2hrs before class. If you’re hungry within that timeline, we recommend a piece of fruit. Like a persimmon. They’re delicious.

What should I bring to class?

You’ll definitely need H2O! Bring your own water bottle or buy it here.

You’ll also need a mat (and most likely a towel as well). You can bring your own, or we also have some for rent and for sale.

A positive, doubt-crushing attitude doesn’t hurt either.

What should I wear?

Athletic clothes that you can easily move in… and don’t mind sweating in. Guys need to wear shorts with a liner, please.

When should I show up?

We recommend that you come to your first class at least 10min early so that we can give you a tour and get you set up in the room.

Is the room like a sauna?

No. We keep the air constantly moving while monitoring the CO2 levels, Oxygen content & humidity as well as the heat. Our system also purifies the air with cold plasma technology to eliminate viruses, bacteria, odors & air-borne molds. You’ll be deep breathing the freshest air around.

I’m not that flexible.

That’s okay. That’s what we’re here for and so much more.

It’s my first yoga class ever. Where should I start?

We recommend that you start with our Hot Stability class since we hold the poses a little longer, giving you time to understand what your body should be doing in each posture. These classes will be the same no matter the time of day, instructor, or if the Tides win or lose.

Is yoga a religion?

Nope. Just an awesome way to move your body, breathe deeply, focus on the here and now, strengthen your muscles, let go of your day, destress, connect mind and body, form a community, let your parasympathetic nervous system take the wheel for a while, exercise, make friends… okay, we’ll stop now.
